Nigerian international Benjamin Tanimu has penned a new deal with Moroccan side Maghreb Association sportive de Fés (MAS Fes) after a short spell in England with Crawley Town. The 22-year-old centre-back struggled to break into Crawley Town’s first team, making just ten appearances before terminating his contract after the club’s relegation to Sky Bet League Two.
Tanimu is expected to sign a two-year contract with MAS Fes, with an option to extend for another year. He took to his official X page to announce his imminent transfer, expressing his gratitude to Crawley Town and excitement for the new chapter in his career.
“A new chapter of hope. Life has a way of bringing us full circle, and as I embark on this new journey, I feel an overwhelming sense of hope and excitement for the future that awaits,” Tanimu wrote.

Tanimu started his professional career with Bendel Insurance in the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) before moving abroad to join Tanzanian side Ihefu Sports Club. He then signed for Crawley Town, but his time in England was cut short due to limited playing opportunities.

The Super Eagles defender has been capped thrice by Nigeria and is expected to bring his experience and skills to MAS Fes. Tanimu is eager to connect with the wonderful community in Fes and achieve great things with the club.
