Nigerian international Paul Onuachu has emerged as a top target for French side Stade Rennes ahead of the summer transfer window.
The 31-year-old striker, currently on the books of Southampton, is being closely monitored by Rennes’ new sporting director, Loïc Désiré, as the Ligue 1 outfit looks to bolster their attack for the 2024/25 season.
Onuachu managed four goals in the Premier League for Southampton, and the towering forward remains open to a move away from the Championship side.

Stade Rennais is positioning Onuachu as a potential replacement for Arnaud Kalimuendo, who may depart Roazhon Park this summer. However, Rennes has yet to table an official offer.

Meanwhile, Southampton have rejected a €5 million proposal from Trabzonspor for a permanent transfer, with club sources describing the offer as below their valuation.
Onuachu enjoyed a productive loan spell at Turkish club Trabzonspor in the 2023/2024 season, netting 15 goals and providing four assists in 21 league matches.
The Saints appear reluctant to sell Onuachu on the cheap, despite his contract expiring in 2026.
