Victor Osimhen in advanced talks with Al Hilal after stellar Galatasaray season

Victor Osimhen is close to joining Al Hilal, the Saudi club are ready to activate his €75m clause and offer a record-breaking deal

Nigeria striker Victor Osimhen is reportedly in advanced negotiations to join Saudi Pro League giants Al Hilal, with the club prepared to trigger his €75m release clause and offer a lucrative multi-year contract.

The 26-year-old forward, currently on loan at Galatasaray from Napoli, enjoyed a standout 2024/25 season in Turkey — scoring 36 goals and providing eight assists in 40 appearances.

His form proved pivotal in Galatasaray’s domestic double triumph, winning both the Süper Lig and the Turkish Cup.

Al Hilal are said to be working hard to finalise personal terms, with confidence growing that an agreement could be reached in the coming weeks.

Osimhen’s potential arrival forms part of a major restructuring effort led by new manager Simone Inzaghi, who has reportedly given his personal approval to the move. The former Inter Milan boss views the Nigerian international as a key figure in his plans to reassert Al Hilal’s dominance domestically and in the AFC Champions League.

Sources close to the negotiation suggest Osimhen is being offered a deal that would make him one of the highest-paid African players in the Middle East.

The Saudi club already home to stars such as Aleksandar Mitrović and Rúben Neves is keen to add proven European firepower to its attack. Osimhen, who helped Napoli to a Serie A title in 2023, brings experience, physicality, and a proven goal-scoring record.

Although the Nigerian has faced challenges in recent years, including injuries and tensions at Napoli, his loan spell in Turkey has reaffirmed his status as one of Africa’s elite forwards.

While several clubs in Europe have long admired Osimhen, Al Hilal’s financial strength and sporting project appear to have made them front-runners in securing his signature.
