Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen’s future has been a topic of intense speculation, with several top clubs reportedly vying for his signature. However, according to Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United are no longer in the running for the Super Eagles forward.

“Guys, let me clarify reports, stories you sent me on social media about Manchester United maybe hijacking the deal from Galatasaray for Victor Osimhen,” Romano stated, emphasizing that Manchester United are not part of the ongoing negotiations.

Galatasaray are now firmly in pole position to secure Osimhen’s signature, with the Turkish giants reportedly agreeing personal terms with the striker. “Galatasaray have already agreed personal terms with Osimhen, who is expected to earn a staggering €16 million net salary per season,” Romano revealed.

The Istanbul club plans to meet Osimhen’s €75 million release clause by paying €40 million in fixed installments and €35 million in installments to be paid over several years.

The main reason Manchester United are not pursuing Osimhen’s signature is due to his high salary demands. “Manchester are not part of this story, not part of the conversation,” Romano said. “Also because Galatasaray are going to give Osimhen an important salary, €16 million euro net per season. Manchester United were not going to be at the table for those numbers in terms of salary.”

With Galatasaray in pole position, Osimhen’s future looks set to be decided in the coming days.

“Galatasaray are getting closer and are always confident to sign Osimhen,” Romano noted. Napoli still needs to give its final approval, but with bank guarantees in place, the transfer could be completed soon. If finalized, the move would mark a significant boost for Galatasaray’s ambitions both domestically and in Europe.
