Super Falcons defender Tosin Demehin has received a ₦30 million cash reward and a house from Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa following Nigeria’s triumph at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
The announcement was made during a civic reception in Akure to honour Ondo State indigenes who were part of the Falcons’ title-winning squad in Morocco.
Demehin, who is from Ilaje Local Government Area and a former player of Sunshine Queens, featured prominently in Nigeria’s defensive setup throughout the tournament.

The Super Falcons defeated hosts Morocco 3–2 in the final to clinch their record-extending 10th WAFCON title.

Alongside Demehin, Governor Aiyedatiwa also awarded ₦15 million each to Mary Akinsola, the team’s media officer, and Mary Oduboku, the team’s secretary both of whom are also from Ondo State.

The governor stated that the rewards were in recognition of their contributions to Nigeria’s continental success and affirmed his administration’s ongoing commitment to sports development.

He also expressed support for local club Sunshine Stars FC in their efforts to return to the Nigeria Premier Football League and commended President Bola Tinubu for his earlier reward package to the entire Super Falcons squad.
