Nigeria Women’s Football League champions Bayelsa Queens have been drawn in Group B of the 2025 CAF Women’s Champions League WAFU Zone B Qualifiers.
The six-time NWFL Premiership winners will face Ghana’s Police Ladies, Association de la Kozah of Togo, and Benin Republic’s Sam Nelly FC.
The draw was confirmed by the West African Football Union (WAFU) Zone B, the tournament kicks off on the 23rd of August in Côte d’Ivoire.
Group A features Ivorian giants ASEC Mimosas, AS Garde from Niger, and Burkina Faso’s USFA.
Bayelsa Queens, coached by Whyte Ogbonda, secured their spot as Nigeria’s representatives after winning the 2025 NWFL Super Six playoff with 10 points, earning the ₦10 million grand prize.

Nasarawa Amazons finished second on 9 points to take ₦6 million, while Edo Queens were third with 8 points, claiming ₦4 million.
Rivers Angels and Remo Stars Ladies each earned ₦1.5 million, while Naija Ratels ended the campaign without a point but also received ₦1.5 million.

The Yenagoa-based side made history in 2022, winning bronze at the inaugural CAF Women’s Champions League with a 1-0 win over Simba Queens of Tanzania.

However, to even stand a chance of qualifying for the inaugural FIFA Women’s Club Championship, Bayelsa Queens must first win their zonal qualifiers, then progress deep into the continental finals.
