Rangers International Technical Adviser Fidelis Ilechukwu has expressed confidence in his team’s preparation ahead of Sunday’s league encounter against Warri Wolves.
Back with the Flying Antelopes after national team duties, Ilechukwu said Rangers have done extensive work on their opponents.
“You must understand the team, the opponents and everything, and prepare towards that, we have been following it and watching the videos. They are so strong” he said.

Despite acknowledging the threat posed by Warri Wolves, the Rangers boss believes his side is mentally and tactically ready.
“I think we understand what it takes, like the analysis and everything, i think we are ready” he said.
Ilechukwu also underlined the importance of mentality as Rangers approach the second round of the campaign.
“The most important thing is football. You just have to help the team, do your best, at the end of the day, win, draw or lose. The most important thing is mentally” he explained.
Addressing questions about centre-back Iwundu, who has scored seven league goals, the most by any Rangers player this season and the second-highest tally in the league, Ilechukwu explained that encouraging defenders to contribute offensively is part of his football philosophy.

The technical adviser also provided clarity on the situation surrounding Evans Ogbonda following a social media post that appeared to signal the player’s departure.
“Evans has got a deal in Zambia (Power Dynamos) We thank him for everything, one of the best things that we enjoy in Rangers is giving the player freedom” he said.
He added that the club prioritises dialogue and player welfare when decisions are made.
“When you say you won’t, even if you have a contract, you have a good discussion with the club, they will allow you to go,” he explained.
“they players must look for more money than anything because there is no pension in football.”

While confirming Ogbonda’s exit, Ilechukwu insisted the door remains open.
“The most important thing now is that he is not with the team, but he is still in our platform,” he said.
“In case any day he feels that he wants to come back to this family, he has 100% chance to come back. But for now, Evans is gone.”
Looking ahead to the transfer window, Ilechukwu confirmed Rangers are planning reinforcements, particularly in attack.
“We have to do more on attack. Also bring in players in attack, maybe one or two, three strikers.”

The Rangers boss made it clear that squad evolution is central to his wider project.
“It’s not all about winning trophies. It’s all about changing lives and producing players,” Ilechukwu added.
