“We’ll Keep Our Promise” — Edo Govt assures Athletes as Gateway Games medal tally soars

Delta State is dominating the 2024 Gateway Games, with Bayelsa and Rivers close behind in the medal standings.

The Edo State Government has pledged generous rewards for its athletes as their medal haul continues to grow at the ongoing Gateway Games 2024 in Ogun State.

Hon Amadin Enabulele, Executive Chairman of the Edo Sports Commission, revealed that the deputy governor personally met with the athletes before departure, assuring them of government support.

“Before the athletes left the state, the deputy governor met with them on behalf of the governor and made some promises to them. We believe the government will keep their part if the athletes do theirs,” Enabulele stated confidently.

To date, Edo’s contingent has claimed 32 medals — 4 gold, 14 silver, and 14 bronze — a clear sign of their dedication and discipline.
