Super Eagles striker Terem Moffi has said his desire to win trophies and score goals at the highest level convinced him to join Portuguese giants FC Porto.
The 25-year-old joined Porto on loan from Ligue 1 side OGC Nice until the end of the season, with the deal including an option for a permanent transfer.
Speaking after returning to the Estádio do Dragão two months after facing Porto as an opponent, Moffi said he felt “very proud” to represent a club with a strong winning culture in both domestic and European competition.
“Everyone knows FC Porto,” the Nigeria international said. “It’s a club that fights to win games and trophies in Europe and in Portugal. I know how important that is for the fans and the Porto family, so it’s very good to be here.”

Moffi will reunite with head coach Francesco Farioli, whom he previously worked with at Nice, describing the Italian as a manager who focuses on fine details to help players improve.
“We worked together two years ago and he always focused on the small details,” Moffi said. “Those details help you evolve. He did very well at Ajax and now he’s doing something extraordinary at Porto.”
The striker also highlighted the influence of former teammate Pablo Rosario in his decision to move, calling the midfielder “one of the best human beings” he has met in football.
“When I started thinking about coming here, I spoke to him immediately,” Moffi said. “He told me many good things about the club, the group and the fans.”
Introducing himself to Porto supporters, Moffi said his game is built around joy, hard work and goals.
“I’m a player who loves to be happy playing football,” he said. “I love scoring goals, working for the team, helping my teammates and interacting with the fans.”
He added that he understands the expectations placed on him at the club.
“I know the fans have high expectations, but with God’s help, I want to score the goals they expect to see.”

Moffi has scored two goals in 10 league appearances this season, a sharp contrast to his debut campaign at Nice, where he finished as the club’s top scorer following his move from Lorient.
Transfer specialist Fabrice Hawkins confirmed that Porto’s loan agreement includes a reported €8m purchase option, though it is not mandatory.

The move follows a turbulent period at Nice, where Moffi had been frozen out of the first-team squad after a confrontation between players and supporters following a Ligue 1 defeat in November.
