Wilfred Ndidi could be on the verge of a major move away from Leicester City, with Borussia Dortmund reportedly stepping up efforts to sign the Super Eagles midfielder.
The 28-year-old has just one year left on his contract with the Foxes, but despite helping them earn promotion back to the Premier League, he is widely expected to leave the club this summer.
According to Africafoot and reports from German journalist Florian Plettenberg, Borussia Dortmund have intensified talks for the Nigerian, with sporting director Sebastian Kehl already in contact with Leicester over a possible transfer.
Dortmund not alone in the race
Ndidi, who has 65 caps for Nigeria, is also on the radar of Manchester United and Saudi Pro League giants Al Hilal, with Fenerbahçe previously linked in recent months.

While Dortmund have reportedly offered €12 million, Leicester are said to be holding out for at least €15 million, hoping to recoup a decent portion of the €17.6 million they paid to sign Ndidi from Belgian side Genk in January 2017.
Despite being under contract until 2027, Ndidi is reportedly unwilling to stay at the King Power Stadium as the will play in the English Championship.

Former Super Eagles defender Taribo West has weighed in on the transfer speculation, stating in an interview that Ndidi is still highly rated in Europe:
“Ndidi will join a Premier League club or a big European team,” West predicted. “He is too good to be in the second tier or sit on the bench. He still has a lot to give.”

Should he join Borussia Dortmund, Ndidi would become the latest Nigerian to feature for the Bundesliga giants, following in the footsteps of Victor Ikpeba and Sunday Oliseh.
Dortmund are currently reshaping their midfield following the exits of key players and are reportedly offering a five-year deal to Ndidi, who is seen as a reliable ball-winner and experienced campaigner.
