Wilfred Ndidi emerges as Bayer Leverkusen transfer target

Wilfred Ndidi has emerged as a transfer target for Bayer Leverkusen, with the Super Eagles midfielder linked to a summer move.

Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi has become a target for German Bundesliga giants Bayer Leverkusen, amid growing interest from clubs across Europe.

The 28-year-old is one of several Leicester City players attracting transfer attention following the club’s relegation from the Premier League.

Despite a difficult season for the Foxes, Ndidi impressed with consistent performances.

His current contract includes a €9 million release clause, activated by Leicester’s drop to the English Championship making him a highly affordable option for top-flight clubs.

According to transfer expert Ben Jacobs, Bayer Leverkusen have now expressed interest in signing the Nigerian, adding their name to a growing list of admirers that includes Manchester United, Borussia Dortmund, Everton, and Fenerbahce.

Leverkusen, managed by Erik ten Hag, are undergoing a squad overhaul after losing several key players including Florian Wirtz, Jonathan Tah, and Jeremie Frimpong.

With nearly €200 million generated in player sales, Die Werkself are financially equipped to activate Ndidi’s clause.

The Nigerian’s ball-winning ability, high work rate, and transitional play would suit Ten Hag’s style as the club seeks midfield reinforcement.

If a deal materialises, Ndidi would join fellow Nigerians Victor Boniface and Nathan Tella at the BayArena, further strengthening the club’s Nigerian connection.

As of now, no official bid has been tabled, but interest in Ndidi continues to mount as the transfer window progresses.
