World Cup playoffs: Osimhen, Lookman headline Super Eagles squad to face Gabon

NFF President Ibrahim Gusau outlines the Super Eagles’ plans ahead of a crucial World Cup playoff campaign.

Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle has announced his 24-man squad for next week’s 2026 FIFA World Cup playoff against Gabon with five players making a return to the Super Eagles fold.

Goalkeeper Maduka Okoye, defenders Bright Osayi-Samuel and Chidozie Awaziem, midfielder Raphael Onyedika, and Sevilla winger Chidera Ejuke have all been recalled after missing October’s qualifying window.

In-form striker Victor Osimhen and African Player of the Year Ademola Lookman headline the squad as the Super Eagles regroup in Rabat next week to finalise preparations for the decisive clash.

The Super Eagles will play the Panthers on Thursday, 13 November, with kickoff set for 17:00 local time (16:00 GMT). The match will be staged at the Prince Moulay El Hassan Sports Complex.
