Super Eagles and Sevilla winger Chidera Ejuke has expressed confidence in Kelechi Iheanacho ability to rediscover his best form despite his struggles at Middlesbrough.
Following the expiration of his contract with Leicester City, Iheanacho moved to Spain after helping the Foxes secure promotion back to the English Premier League. However, his time in Spain has been challenging.
In nine league appearances, the 28-year-old has yet to register a goal involvement, raising concerns about his adaptation to a new environment. Despite this, Ejuke remains confident that the forward will regain his form.

Iheanacho is yet to score after 7 games for Middlesbrough in the Championship.
In an interview with Hill of Nervion, Ejuke dismissed doubts about Iheanacho’s abilities, emphasizing his proven track record.
“You can’t take anything away from Iheanacho. We all know his quality and what he has achieved in the Premier League with Leicester. He is a top-level player with incredible talent,” Ejuke stated.
“Adjusting to a new league is never easy, but this is just a temporary phase. I have no doubt he will find his rhythm again in the next part of the season.”

Ejuke also spoke about the positive atmosphere at Sevilla, highlighting the strong camaraderie among Nigerian players.
“The team spirit is great, and having fellow Nigerians in the dressing room makes it even better,” he said. “I already knew Dodi, Iheanacho, and Akor Adams before, so we have built a solid dynamic.
“With Akor and Iheanacho, we share that Nigerian connection, which adds to the positive vibe. It’s always enjoyable.”
Super Eagles Omission and Support for the Team
Like Iheanacho, Ejuke was left out of Eric Chelle’s 23-man squad for Nigeria’s upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Zimbabwe. However, he remains supportive of the team’s efforts.
“Nigeria has a wealth of talented players, and ultimately, squad selection is up to the coach. He knows what he’s doing,” Ejuke said.
“If I get the opportunity to represent my country again, I’ll be ready. But for now, I wish the team all the best. I’ll be watching and hoping they secure victories.”
