Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali is set to leave Chippa United at the end of the current season.
Since his impressive performances at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), speculation about Nwabali’s future has been ongoing.
The 28-year-old was relatively unknown before the tournament but gained recognition after helping Nigeria reach the final with a string of solid performances.
Following his AFCON heroics, Nwabali attracted interest from top South African clubs, including Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates.

European side Queens Park Rangers (QPR) and Saudi Pro League club Al Ettifaq were also reportedly keen on signing him. However, no deal materialized, and he remained with Chippa United.

According to Kickoff Online, the Nigerian shot-stopper is now set to part ways with the Chilli Boys when the season concludes. However, his next club remains unknown.

Chippa United to Search for a New Goalkeeper
Chippa United has a history of signing Nigerian goalkeepers, with former Super Eagles star Daniel Akpeyi guarding their goal between 2015 and 2019. With Nwabali set to leave, the club is reportedly considering another West African goalkeeper as a replacement.

The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) remains a strong scouting ground for Chippa United, and they may once again turn to the league for their next shot-stopper.
