Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers is reportedly ready to break Celtic’s all-time transfer fee record to sign 19-year-old Nigerian international goalkeeper Nathaniel Nwosu.
The towering young Nigerian goalkeeper, currently plying his trade for Tayport in the sixth tier of Scottish football, has caught the eye of the Celtic boss, who is said to be impressed by the teenager’s potential and international pedigree.
Standing at an imposing 6ft 8in, Nwosu has already made a name for himself in the football world, featuring in the popular Football Manager series as a ‘Wonderkid’.

Tayport manager George Shields has spoken highly of Nwosu’s attributes, praising his potential to play at a much higher level. “He’s six foot eight and I can see him getting a contract someplace, especially in Scotland,” Shields said. “There is some word that Celtic might want a look at him, as well, but we’ve not had confirmation of that yet.”

Nwosu is currently on trial with St Johnstone, with several clubs across Scotland monitoring his performances.
