The Concerned Referees and Match Commissioners of Ghana (CRAMCOG) have officially notified the Ghana Football Association (GFA) of their decision to suspend officiating services for the remainder of the 2024/2025 Ghana Premier League season.
The move comes after a 21-week delay in the payment of officiating allowances, raising serious concerns about the treatment of match officials and the potential impact on the integrity of the league.
In a letter dated April 27, 2025, CRAMCOG emphasized that the continued failure to pay officiating allowances undermines the credibility of the league. The group warned that the prolonged neglect of referees could expose them to external influences, which would compromise the fairness and integrity of the sport.

“We vehemently abhor any form of inducement and want to avoid it at all costs to maintain the integrity of the game,” the letter stated. CRAMCOG highlighted that the situation has reached an unsustainable point, stating, “An empty sack cannot stand upright,” referencing the ongoing burden the referees have endured.
