Martin Bakole and Efe Ajagba fought to a thrilling stalemate on Saturday night, as their 10-round heavyweight contest ended in a majority draw at the ANB Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
In a fight that showcased grit, power, and moments of tactical brilliance, the judges were unable to separate the two. Two scorecards read 95-95, while the third narrowly favoured Ajagba at 96-94.
Ajagba (20-1-1, 14 KOs) boxed effectively behind the jab, mixing footwork with sharp counterpunching. Bakole (21-2-1, 16 KOs), eager to rebound after a short-notice loss to Joseph Parker in February, absorbed early pressure and came on stronger in the later rounds, landing heavy shots and pushing the pace.

The statistics reflected the fight’s balance. CompuBox recorded Ajagba landing 190 of 451 punches (42%) compared to Bakole’s 145 of 460 (32%). Power shots were almost even—Ajagba landed 84, Bakole 82.

Both fighters believed they had done enough to win.
“I won the fight,” said Ajagba. “But it’s not up to me. The judges decide. I want the rematch—preferably in the United States.”
Bakole echoed the call for a second meeting and insisted a proper training camp would make the difference.

“I worked hard after the Parker fight. I believe I won tonight, but it is what it is. If I get a full camp next time, he won’t go the distance.”
