The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) President, Ibrahim Gusau, has confirmed the full itinerary of the Super Eagles ahead of their 2026 FIFA World Cup (Africa) playoffs in Morocco.
The Eagles will open camp in Rabat on Sunday, November 9, as preparations begin for their semi-final clash against Gabon on Thursday, November 13. The other semi-final will see Cameroon face DR Congo, with the winners meeting in the final on Sunday, November 16, at the Prince Moulay El Hassan Sports Complex.
According to the Confederation of African Football (CAF), a draw will be held today to determine which of the semi-finals will be played at either the 18,000-capacity El-Barid Stadium or the 22,000-capacity Prince Moulay El Hassan Sports Complex, both in Rabat.
NFF President Ibrahim Gusau expressed confidence in the team’s readiness, assuring that the federation and the National Sports Commission (NSC) are leaving nothing to chance.
“Everything is being done, by the NSC and the NFF, to see that nothing is left to chance. No stone will be left unturned,” Gusau said.

“That special spirit that saw the team rise to the occasion and score the four goals they actually needed against Bénin Republic on the final day of the qualifiers will propel the team to victory in the play-offs.”

He also confirmed that arrangements for the camp are complete, with all invited players already on board.
“The camp will open in Rabat, Morocco, on Sunday, November 9. We are speaking to the players already and everyone is on the same page. Every preparation needed to see the team soar to victory will be made,” he added.
“I believe the players are additionally motivated by that keen desire of every professional footballer to feature at the FIFA World Cup finals.”

Nigeria, who finished as one of the best second-placed teams from the qualifiers, are one of four nations, Nigeria, Gabon, Cameroon, and DR Congo competing for a place in the intercontinental playoffs scheduled for March 2026 in Mexico.

Nine African teams have already qualified directly for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be co-hosted by Canada, Mexico, and the United States.
