Chelle’s 19-point contract demands to NFF revealed

Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle has presented a 19-point proposal to the Nigeria Football Federation outlining his conditions for a contract extension.

The document, first reported by journalist Shina Oludare, was formally submitted on 22 January 2026 and details requests covering welfare, logistics, technical autonomy and remuneration.

Chelle is seeking a consolidated monthly package of $130,000, which would cover his salary, technical staff and a personal assistant. He has also requested guarantees on timely payment of wages and bonuses aligned with federation structures.

The proposal comes after a sustained run of results under the Franco-Malian, who has overseen 17 competitive matches without defeat 11 wins and six draws.

At the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, Nigeria finished third.

The Super Eagles scored 14 goals during the tournament and went unbeaten in regulation time across seven matches, losing only on penalties to hosts Morocco national football team in the semi-finals before defeating Egypt national football team in the third-place play-off.

Key elements of Chelle’s proposal

The 19-point submission includes:

  • Provision of a private SUV with chauffeur and security
  • Housing in a secure area with uninterrupted power supply
  • A furnished office equipped for tactical analysis, including projector and internet access
  • Business-class travel for the coach and his wife, with economy tickets for their two children
  • GPS and modern training equipment
  • Authority to determine international friendly opponents
  • Structured camping programmes
  • Permission to travel abroad and domestically to monitor players
  • Full autonomy in team selection and call-ups
  • Formal working contracts for all coaching staff
  • Salaries to be paid on or before the 30th of each month
  • Inclusion of his personal assistant in bonus and allowance structures
  • Monthly meetings with all national team coaches.
