Former Nigeria captain Jay-Jay Okocha has revealed that failing to win major trophies during his time at Paris Saint-Germain remains the biggest disappointment of his spell in France.
Okocha joined the French club in 1998 after impressing for Nigeria at the FIFA World Cup in France, quickly becoming a fan favourite at the Parc des Princes with his flair and creativity.
Despite his popularity among supporters, the Super Eagles legend says the absence of significant silverware remains a lingering regret.

Speaking in a documentary produced by PSG, Okocha explained that his main ambition when joining the club was to win titles.
“When I signed for the club, my main objective was to win trophies,” he said.
“That is what every player wants when they join a team.”
However, the former midfielder admitted the team fell short of that goal during his time in Paris.
“Unfortunately, during my time here, we were not able to win as many trophies as we hoped. That is probably my biggest regret.”

Okocha spent four seasons with PSG between 1998 and 2002, producing a number of memorable performances that cemented his reputation as one of Africa’s most entertaining footballers.

During his time at the club, he made 84 appearances and scored 12 goals before moving on to continue his career in the English Premier League.

Although he remains fondly remembered by PSG supporters, Okocha says the lack of major honours is the one aspect of his time at the club he wishes had been different.
