Victor Osimhen was on target as Galatasaray strengthened their Turkish title defence with a comfortable 3-0 victory over İstanbul Başakşehir FK at RAMS Park on Saturday.
The hosts eventually broke down their opponents after a tense first half in which both sides struggled to create clear chances.
The turning point came in the 57th minute when Başakşehir defender Festy Ebosele was sent off after receiving a second yellow card.

Galatasaray quickly capitalised on the numerical advantage, taking the lead a minute later through Wilfried Singo.
Osimhen doubled the advantage in the 66th minute to put the result firmly beyond doubt.
Earlier in the match, the Nigerian forward had come close to scoring in spectacular fashion when his overhead kick in the 63rd minute struck the woodwork.

Substitute Renato Nhaga completed the scoring late on, finding the net in the 84th minute to seal a convincing victory for the home side.

The win moves Galatasaray seven points clear of closest challengers Fenerbahçe SK and Trabzonspor in the race for the Turkish Super Lig title.

Osimhen’s goal takes his league tally to 12 goals and four assists in 19 appearances this season. Across all competitions, the Super Eagles striker has now registered 19 goals and seven assists in 28 matches for the Istanbul giants.
