Samuel Chukwueze could be facing a significant spell on the sidelines after picking up an injury during AC Milan’s Serie A meeting with Atalanta, with the Nigerian winger now facing an anxious wait over his recovery.
Sky Sport journalist Peppe Di Stefano reported that there is a real risk Chukwueze could be unavailable for at least two months, a potential setback that would disrupt Milan’s plans across domestic and European competitions.
The club is awaiting further clarity on the extent of the injury and the time the winger may need to recover. An absence of around eight weeks would leave Milan without one of their attacking options for a substantial stretch of the season.
“For Chukwueze, there is a real risk that the layoff could be at least two months,” Di Stefano said.

The potential layoff comes as Milan also monitor the condition of Gonçalo Ramos, whose initial ultrasound examination returned negative results.
However, that result has not ended the concern surrounding the forward. Further tests, including an MRI, are planned to determine whether he has suffered any damage to his soleus muscle.
“Goncalo Ramos underwent an initial ultrasound yesterday, which came back negative. In the next few hours, an MRI will be performed to try to rule out any micro-tears in the soleus,” Di Stefano said.
