In quotes relayed by Azzurrissimo, he said: “Lookman would be an extraordinary signing for Napoli, he has always made the difference in Serie A.

“He has had very few moments of difficulty, then he is a player who can exalt the Naples club. ”

With Napoli ‘s tight schedule next season looking very congested, involving multiple domestic and European competitions, Pia emphasised the need for a deeper, high-quality squad.

“If you play more competitions you have to have a squad that is up to par because if you need to give someone a breather you need valid alternatives.

“Napoli have only had the championship to think about and have managed to maintain an important ranking, but from next year the music will change and it will be necessary to integrate the squad with other high-level players. ”
