Fenerbahce board member Hakan Safi has singlehandedly declared interest to finance the permanent move of Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen to Fenerbahce.
The Nigerian striker has been stunning since his loan moves to Galatasaray, he has contributed 38 goals in just 36 matches, powering the reigning Turkish champions towards a potential domestic double and earning cult status among fans.
Galatasaray’s gain has been Fenerbahce’s pain. Fenerbahce is currently on the 2nd place in the Super Lig table with 75 points while reigning Turkish champions are seated comfortably with 80 points.

The frustration and envy is well understood and has transformed into a well channeled ambition, with Safi now determined to snatch the Napoli-owned striker away — even if just for a season.
Fenerbahce had their golden chance to sign Osimhen on loan last summer, but were somehow convinced that Moroccan striker Youssef En-Nesyri from Sevilla was a better shot.
Galatasaray swooped in to secure Osimhen, committing to the financial demands of the deal — a decision that has proven to be a masterstroke.
Now, Safi — who also backs Fenerbahce’s basketball operations — is urging fellow board members to act swiftly in pursuit of the Super Eagles star, convinced he can help the club match Galatasaray’s financial firepower.

However, prising Osimhen away from their arch-rivals will be anything but straightforward. Galatasaray are already pushing to make his stay permanent, underlining just how critical the 26-year-old has become to their plans.
Juventus are also monitoring the striker’s situation closely, while Real Madrid and Barcelona are also potential destinations, ensuring that any potential move within Turkey will face fierce international competition.

Osimhen, the first African to win the Serie A Golden Boot, remains a top priority for several Premier League clubs, including Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea. United boss Ruben Amorim is particularly keen, reportedly making Osimhen a leading summer target.
