Former Nigerian international John Ogu has made a bold prediction about Super Eagles goal king Victor Osimhen, claiming the striker could score more than 50 goals in a single season if he joins either Arsenal or Barcelona.
The 26-year-old forward is expected to be one of the most sought-after names in the upcoming summer transfer window following a prolific campaign at Galatasaray. On loan from Napoli, Osimhen has scored 31 goals and provided eight assists in 36 appearances for the Turkish giants, averaging a goal contribution every 72 minutes.
Responding to a social media post by Osimhen’s associate, Buchi Laba, who claimed the striker could score “50+ goals” at a top club if fully fit, Ogu publicly endorsed the statement, replying: “You no lie Buchi.”

Ogu, who was part of Nigeria’s squad at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, is among a growing number of voices backing Osimhen to thrive in Europe’s biggest leagues.
Initial reports suggested Osimhen was seeking wages in excess of £300,000 per week. However, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano recently clarified that the Nigerian striker is willing to accept a deal worth under £200,000 per week, in line with his current salary of around €12 million net annually.

Such a figure could appeal to clubs like Arsenal and Manchester United, both of whom are conscious of wage structure as they prepare for the summer window.
