Kwara United head coach Tunde Sanni says he is determined to make history with the club as they prepare for a President Federation Cup final clash against Abakaliki FC at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Lagos.
The final marks a landmark occasion for both the Harmony Boys and their coach, who has never reached this stage of the competition — either as a player or a manager.
“As a player, I only featured in the cup semi-final once — in 1989 — with IBL FC of Ilesa. We lost to Iwuanyanwu Nationale,” Sanni told Complete Sports.

“As a coach, this is the first time I will be featuring in the final, and I believe it’s a date with destiny.”

Sanni, who has overseen a steady transformation of the team this season, says winning the trophy would be a dream come true — not just for him, but for the people of Kwara State.
“Hopefully, I pray to God to crown our efforts with the President Federation Cup trophy — for the government and the good people of Kwara State,” he said.
Victory in Lagos would not only deliver Kwara United’s first major title, but also hand the Ilorin-based side a ticket to continental football for the upcoming season — a milestone achievement for the club.
