The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) have confirmed that FIFA has officially approved the Unity Cup 2025 as a Tier-1 international tournament.
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) made the announcement on Friday evening through its official X (formerly Twitter) handle.
The competition will kick off on Tuesday, 27th May with Trinidad & Tobago facing Jamaica.
Follows next is Nigeria and arch-rivals Ghana will clash in a fixture that brings back the heat of a rivalry that has lasted 74 years.

The football governing body said that all matches must strictly adhere to the Laws of the Game, as the competition carries full international status.
“The Unity Cup 2025 gets FIFA approval. Football governing body Reminds all teams that the Laws of the Game must strictly be applied for these tier-1 matches.” the NFF said.
The four-nation tournament has been schedule to take place at the Gtech Community Stadium in London, home of Premier League side Brentford FC.
Under the leadership of newly appointed head coach Eric Chelle, the Super Eagles of Nigeria will begin their Unity Cup campaign on Wednesday, May 28.
Nigeria, Ghana, Jamaica, and Trinidad and Tobago are set to compete in what is expected to be a high-profile football event.
The tournament serves as a key opportunity for participating nations to prepare for upcoming FIFA World Cup qualifiers and continental competitions.
With FIFA’s endorsement, matches will contribute to the FIFA World Rankings and be officiated by referees meeting international standards.

Coach Chelle is expected to use the tournament to assess new talents and strengthen team cohesion as Nigeria aims for a strong comeback on the global stage.

The tournament will wrap up on Saturday, 31st May, with the losers of the two semi-final matches contesting the third-place game. The final will follow shortly after, where the winner will be crowned champions.
