Ademola Lookman equalled a record set by former Atletico Madrid striker Luis Suarez as the Nigerian scored in Atletico Madrid’s 4-2 win over Espanyol in La Liga on Saturday.
The Super Eagles forward found the net for the second game in succession, helping Diego Simeone’s side secure their first league victory in four matches at the Metropolitano.
Atletico fell behind inside six minutes when Jofre Carreras fired Espanyol into an early lead. The hosts responded through Alexander Sørloth, who volleyed home midway through the first half to restore parity.

Four minutes after the restart, Álex Baena put Atletico in front before Lookman struck in the 58th minute. The 28-year-old reacted quickest to a flick-on from Sørloth at a corner, guiding the ball home from close range to make it 3-1.
Sørloth later added his second of the night with a header from Matteo Ruggeri’s cross, while Espanyol grabbed a late consolation as the match finished 4-2.
