Nnadi responds to Taiwo’s message after completing Marseille move

Nigeria midfielder Tochukwu Nnadi has thanked former Super Eagles defender Taye Taiwo for his words of encouragement following his move to Marseille.

Taiwo, a former Marseille player, welcomed Nnadi to the club in a video message shared on the Ligue 1 side’s official social media channels, describing the transfer as a source of pride.

“Hi Nnadi, congratulations. Welcome to Marseille,” Taiwo said.

“I hope you have a great time. In Nigeria, people don’t hold grudges. All the best.”

Nnadi responded by thanking the former defender, describing the message as important as he begins the next stage of his career.

“I want to say thank you so much to Uncle Taiwo,” Nnadi said.

“This message means a lot to me. Like he said, Nigeria doesn’t hold grudges.”

The 22-year-old midfielder completed a reported €6m move to Marseille from Belgian side Zulte Waregem earlier this week, signing a contract that runs until 2030.
