Matchday 30 of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) was marred by controversy in Ibadan as Niger Tornadoes head coach, Majin Mohammed, reportedly attacked Shooting Stars’ goalkeeper trainer, John Dosu, before kickoff.
Eyewitnesses at the Lekan Salami Stadium confirmed that the shocking incident occurred during the pre-match warm-up, leading to tensions between both teams before a ball was even kicked.

Despite the unsportsmanlike conduct, the match proceeded as scheduled, with Shooting Stars securing a 3-1 victory to end their seven-game winless streak.
Niger Tornadoes management had appointed Majin Mohammed as the team’s substantive Technical Adviser on a season-long contract on the 31st of July after he stirred the team to safety in the 2023/2024 NPFL season.
The NPFL has yet to issue an official statement on the incident, but there are strong calls for disciplinary action against Majin Mohammed for his conduct.
