Ola Aina excluded from action due to calf injury, confirms Nottingham Forest manager

Ola Aina who was recently named in the Emirates FA Cup Team of the Round (quarter-final) has been confirmed out of play by Nottingham Forest manager, Nuno Espirito Santo, As he will spend some time on the sidelines due to a calf injury.

Aina was sent off the pitch during Nottingham Forest’s 1-0 win over Manchester United at the City Ground on Tuesday night.

The 28-year-old, who was replaced by Alex Moreno eight minutes after the break left the stadium in crutches.

“He already did the scan, he will be out for a while, he’s not going to be available,” Nuno told a press conference.

“It’s a big blow yeah, we will miss his quality, his talent, the routines he already has with his teammates, we’re gonna miss him. It’s a problem with the calf.”

Aina played a vital role in the victory between Nottingham Forest and Brighton in quarter-final at the AMEX Stadium on Saturday.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s side booked a place in the semi-final following a 4-3 penalty shootout victory over their hosts.

The defender recorded five clearances, seven recoveries and won eight ground duels in the game.

He also completed the most dribbles in the encounter (five). Earning a score rating of 7.56.

Taiwo Awoniyi, Alex Iwobi, and Calvin Bassey made it to the quarterfinals of the FA Cup, but were not named in the Team of the Round.

The Forest will be away to Aston Villa in the Premier League this weekend.
