Super Eagles and Nottingham Forest defender Ola Aina has seen his market value skyrocket, rising from €14 million in December to an impressive €20 million in March, a staggering 42% increase, according to Transfermarkt.

The Nigerian international has been one of Nottingham Forest’s standout performers this season, showcasing his defensive resilience and attacking contributions.

His rapid rise in value has not gone unnoticed, with top European clubs—including Manchester City—reportedly monitoring his progress.

Aina’s Exceptional Form Driving His Market Surge

Since joining Nottingham Forest on a free transfer from Torino in 2023, Aina has established himself as a key player in the Premier League.

His performances have been instrumental in Forest’s campaign, consistently delivering strong displays at both right-back and left-back.

This surge in market value reflects not just his on-field impact but also his growing reputation as one of the league’s most versatile and reliable defenders.

Former Super Eagles captain Joseph Yobo has already endorsed Aina as a perfect fit for City, praising his tactical awareness and attacking qualities.

“Aina is currently one of the top three right-backs in the Premier League, and joining Manchester City wouldn’t surprise me at all,” Yobo told Soccernet.ng.

“He’s strong defensively but also contributes in attack—qualities Guardiola values highly.”

Aina’s contract set to expire in June, Nottingham Forest could risk losing him for free at the end of the season. While the club is reportedly eager to extend his stay, interest from elite European teams could sway the Nigerian international toward a new challenge.
