Victor Osimhen could write another chapter in his growing legacy at Galatasaray SK by becoming the club’s highest scorer in a single UEFA Champions League campaign.
The Nigeria forward has six goals in six appearances this season and needs two more to equal the club record of eight, set by Burak Yılmaz during the 2012-13 campaign. Three goals across the two-legged round of 16 play-off tie against Juventus FC would see him surpass that mark outright.
Yılmaz scored eight times in nine matches in his debut European season with Galatasaray after joining from Trabzonspor, helping the Istanbul side reach the quarter-finals before they were eliminated 5-3 on aggregate by Real Madrid CF.

Osimhen’s goals have been central to Galatasaray’s progress into the knockout play-offs, with the first leg against Juventus set for RAMS Park before the return fixture in Turin.

Even if he falls short of three goals against the Italian side, progression to the next round would hand Osimhen further opportunities to break the record.
