Victor Osimhen is reportedly set to make a blockbuster move to Manchester United after agreeing to a stunning £250,000-per-week contract and a £51 million transfer fee according to Turkish media reports.
Turkish journalist Serdar Ali Celikler claims Osimhen, who has a €75 million release clause for foreign clubs, already has a basic agreement in place with Manchester United. Fellow journalist Aygün Özipek reports that personal terms have been finalised.
But wait—new revelations from insider Fabrizio Romano suggest there’s more to this story than meets the eye.
Osimhen’s strained relationship with Napoli seems to be the catalyst for his inevitable departure at the end of the 2024/25 season. While Galatasaray has expressed interest in keeping him, they’re unwilling to meet his €75 million release clause.
This could pave the way for Manchester United to swoop in at a significantly lower transfer fee reports suggest as little as €30 million (£26 million) to €35 million (£30 million).
Romano Drops Bombshell Update on Personal Terms
While some reports claim that personal terms have already been agreed between Osimhen and United, Romano is urging caution. According to the transfer guru, Manchester United hasn’t even opened talks with the forward yet.

Why? The club is waiting to see if they qualify for European competition next season, as this will dictate their transfer budget. Could United’s Champions League hopes be the deciding factor?

Romano explained, “There is nothing agreed with any club at the moment. Manchester United are waiting to understand whether they’ll be in the Champions League or not before making moves.”
Osimhen has been absolutely on fire this season, netting an impressive 29 goals and six assists in 34 appearances for Galatasaray. With his pace, power, and deadly finishing, he’s quickly become one of the hottest strikers in Europe.
Could his explosive form be exactly what Manchester United needs to fix their long-standing striker problems?
