Rangers International claimed a narrow 1–0 victory over Katsina United in their Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) matchday 7 fixture at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu, on Monday morning.
The game, which had been halted on Sunday evening due to heavy rainfall, resumed for the final 25 minutes at 8:30 a.m. after both sides agreed to complete the fixture.
Before the stoppage, Chidebere Nwobodo missed a golden chance with a header from a free-kick in the 31st minute, while Godwin Obaje’s attempt from close range went over the bar as rain poured relentlessly in Enugu.
Evans Ogbonda also tested Katsina’s defence with a fine strike early in the second half.
When play resumed, Rangers broke the deadlock as Igwilo’s precise cross found Obaje, who swept home for his third goal in two matches, adding to his brace from the previous draw against Wikki Tourists.

Katsina United responded with pressure of their own but failed to find an equaliser, while Evans Ogbonda’s late delivery caused panic before a corner led to tempers flaring.
Rangers’ striker Alex Jerry was sent off for punching a Katsina player moments before the corner was taken.
The result lifted the eight-time NPFL champions to 14th on the table with eight points after seven matches.
