Senegal powered past Nigeria’s D’Tigers 91-75 to secure a place in the Afrobasket 2025 semi-finals in Luanda, Angola.
The D’Tigers started brightly, edging the first quarter 28-27, but Senegal wrestled control in the second period.
A quick 6-0 run, capped by three-pointers from Jean-Jacques Boissy and Amar Sylla, set the tone as they outscored Nigeria 30-18 to lead 53-42 at half-time.

Senegal’s dominance continued after the break, with Brancou Badio pouring in a game-high 32 points.

Boissy added 21, while Moustapha Diop chipped in 14, ensuring Senegal stayed in front despite a late Nigerian rally.

For Nigeria, Ike Nwamu led with 15 points, supported by Stan Okoye (14), Caleb Agada (12) and Martins Igbanu (12), but their fightback in the fourth quarter proved too late.

The defeat ends Nigeria’s run in Angola, while Senegal progress to face Mali in an all-West African semi-final. The winner will meet either hosts Angola or Egypt in Sunday’s final.
