Werder Bremen coach defends Boniface amid goal drought as striker flaunts new Lamborghini

Victor Boniface has turned heads off the pitch after unveiling a brand-new 2025 Lamborghini Urus worth over ₦505 million, even as the Super Eagles striker continues to battle through a difficult run of form at Werder Bremen.

The 24-year-old, currently on loan from Bayer Leverkusen, has endured a frustrating spell in Germany with no goals in his last nine outings, a barren run that has pushed him out of Nigeria’s plans since June and left his AFCON 2025 hopes in jeopardy.

The forward’s tough spell has been accompanied by concerns over conditioning and confidence, with Werder Bremen manager Horst Steffen urging patience as the striker searches for belief in front of goal.

But away from the field, Boniface’s energy remains undiminished.

On Wednesday, the Nigerian posted a short video on Snapchat showing off a blue Lamborghini Urus, revving the engine before driving out of the showroom.

The luxury SUV, priced at around $350,000, now sits alongside his G-Wagon and white Mercedes GLE, the latter of which surfaced during his much-publicised exchange with a female police officer earlier this year.

The purchase added fresh attention to his vibrant off-pitch lifestyle, which also saw him spotted the previous night vibing roadside to a live performance by Afrobeats star Olamide.

While critics have questioned Boniface’s focus, Steffen insists the forward remains fully committed.

The Bremen coach has repeatedly defended him in recent weeks, stressing that the Nigerian has not dropped his standards in training.

“He works hard every day,” Steffen said earlier in November. “He’s never been a problem for us. He just needs confidence and one good moment to turn things around.”

Boniface is expected to feature when Bremen host FC Köln this weekend an opportunity many believe could finally break the drought and restore the swagger that made him one of the Bundesliga’s breakout stars last season.
