52-year-old undefeated Nigerian heavyweight boxer Ike “The President” Ibeabuchi is reportedly set to make an historic return to the ring after a 26-year hiatus.
The 52-year-old undefeated heavyweight boxer, with an impressive record of 20 fights and 20 wins, 15 of which came by knockout, will step into the ring on August 23, 2025.
Ibeabuchi’s comeback fight will take place at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Surulere, Lagos, as part of Prizefighting Promotions LLC’s debut card.

Initially scheduled to face British veteran Danny Williams, the matchup has hit a snag as Williams has pulled out for undisclosed reasons.
A new opponent, reportedly a Nigerian-based fighter, is expected to step in and test Ibeabuchi’s power and pedigree in front of a home crowd.

Ibeabuchi’s boxing career was marked by impressive victories, including wins over previously undefeated contenders David Tua and Chris Byrd. He was ranked as the world’s No. 8 heavyweight in 1997 and 1998 and No. 10 in 1999 by BoxRec.
Despite his natural talent and potential in the ring, Ibeabuchi’s career was eventually overshadowed by personal issues and run-ins with law enforcement.
After submitting an Alford plea for charges on sexual misconduct in 1999, he was imprisoned in Las Vegas, effectively ending his professional boxing career.
