NPFL side Rangers International

Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) giants Rangers International have announced 3 new signings, Chidozie Iwundu, Ejike Ikwu, and Monday Daniel in an iconic unveiling video that celebrates the rich heritage of the club and the Igbo culture.

The video features powerful narration tracing the history of Rangers International and the cultural pride of the Igbo people, setting the tone for what the club hopes will be a successful 2025/26 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) campaign.

Monday Daniel, 24, arrives from El Kanemi Warriors after featuring in 34 NPFL matches last season, including two appearances in the CAF Confederation Cup.

The versatile defender can operate both at right and left back, with experience playing three times as right fullback and once as left back last season.

Ejike Ikwu, 26, returns to Rangers for a second stint from Heartland FC. The former Nigeria U17 and U20 international made 31 league appearances with two assists last season despite Heartland’s relegation.

A native of Enugu, he was part of Nigeria’s 2015 U17 FIFA World Cup-winning squad, playing in all seven matches.

Chidozie Iwundu joins from Sunshine Stars after two seasons in Nigeria’s South West region.

The centre back and former Sunshine Stars captain played 34 matches last season, scoring twice, including goals against Ikorodu City and Kano Pillars.

Iwundu brings valuable NPFL experience, having played 61 league matches after moving from NNL side Gateway United.

Rangers are preparing to mount a serious challenge for their ninth NPFL title following a mixed 2024/25 season.

The club’s General Manager and CEO, Barrister Amobi Ezeaku, told Athletic NG last month.

“We will wear the same kit design from last season because we are confident that we will win our ninth Nigeria Premier Football League title in the 2025/2026 season.

Our plan is to incorporate nine stars on our badge, and we want the new kit to carry that legacy.”

Founded in 1970, Rangers International is one of Nigeria’s oldest and most storied clubs. Rangers hold the unique record of never being relegated from the NPFL.
