Ademola Lookman marked his Atlético Madrid debut in spectacular fashion, scoring his 100th career goal and providing an assist as Diego Simeone’s side swept aside Real Betis 5–0 to reach the Copa del Rey semi-finals.
The Nigeria forward, signed on deadline day, was at the heart of Atlético’s ruthless performance in Seville, contributing directly to two goals as the visitors dismantled a Betis side that had won their previous five home matches.
Atlético took control early when captain Koke’s 12th-minute corner was glanced home by Dávid Hancko, setting the tone for a dominant first half.

Lookman nearly doubled the lead soon after, racing clear on goal, but dragged his effort wide on his first clear opening in Atlético colours.
The visitors were not to be denied. Giuliano Simeone made it 2–0 midway through the half, tapping in Matteo Ruggeri’s cut-back after a swift move down the left flank.
Eight minutes before the interval, Lookman announced himself decisively. Collecting a pass from Pablo Barrios on the counter, he cut inside two defenders and fired past Adrián to score his first Atlético goal, a landmark 100th of his professional career.

Betis struggled to respond after the break, with Abde Ezzalzouzi’s early chance easily saved by Juan Musso.

Atlético continued to exploit the space, and just after the hour mark Lookman turned provider, threading a pass into the path of Antoine Griezmann, who squeezed his shot through the goalkeeper to make it 4–0.

With the tie long settled, Diego Simeone rang the changes, and substitute Thiago Almada completed the rout seven minutes from time, converting after Adrián parried Griezmann’s initial effort.
