Rangers International are close to securing a new sponsorship agreement with Afrinvest West Africa worth more than ₦1bn, in what would be the biggest ever jersey sponsorship deal in Euro match Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) history.
Athletic NG understands that negotiations between the Enugu club and its longstanding financial partner have reached an advanced stage, with both parties reaching a major understanding over the proposed extension.
The finer details of the agreement remain undisclosed ahead of the anticipated signing ceremony.
Negotiations have been led by Rangers general manager and chief executive officer, Barr Amobi Ezeaku, and Afrinvest Group managing director, Prince Ike Chioke.
Afrinvest is Rangers’ official front of shirt and primary corporate sponsor. The two parties signed a three-year agreement on 10 October 2023, valued at ₦50m annually.
The original partnership was worth ₦150m over its three-year duration.
A new agreement exceeding ₦1bn would represent a substantial increase in the financial commitment and establish a new sponsorship record in the NPFL.
Rangers won the 2023/24 NPFL title within months of signing the original agreement, ending an eight-year wait for the championship and securing their eighth league title.
The Flying Antelopes subsequently won the 2025/26 NPFL title to draw level with Enyimba’s record of nine Nigerian league championships.
They have also started the 2026/27 campaign strongly, sitting top of the standings with 21 points after 10 matches.
Under Ezeaku’s management, Rangers have pursued plans to strengthen the club’s commercial operations and build a sustainable football institution.
The proposed Afrinvest extension is expected to attract attention across Nigerian football, particularly given its potential to become the most valuable jersey sponsorship agreement in NPFL history.
An official announcement is expected following the conclusion of negotiations.
