Frank Onyeka delivered a commanding midfield display and said tactical discipline proved decisive as Coventry City beat West Bromwich Albion 2-0 in the Championship.
The Nigeria international was named Player of the Match in just his second appearance for Coventry, helping the Sky Blues secure back-to-back league wins and boost their promotion ambitions.
Goals from Ephron Mason-Clark and Jack Rudoni sealed the points at The Hawthorns, but Onyeka’s influence in midfield set the platform for victory.

Speaking to Sky Sports, the 28-year-old pointed to Coventry’s defensive organisation as the foundation of their success.
“It’s really nice. It’s a great win away from home,” he said. “I know it’s quite difficult, but it’s all about winning. I’m happy that we got the win today and also the last game.
“We just decided to stay in the middle block. Don’t give them anything. I think that’s what helped us in the second half.”

Onyeka’s statistics underlined his control of the contest. He won eight of his 12 duels, completed three of four tackles, made five ball recoveries, three clearances and one interception, while creating a chance and recording a 73% pass accuracy.
