“Arsenal’s target is Osimhen” – talks claim emerges after Gala visit

Fenerbahçe are preparing a formal appeal to the Turkish FA to stop Victor Osimhen from playing in the derby against Galatasaray, citing safety concerns over his protective hand cast.

Fresh transfer intrigue has emerged around Victor Osimhen after reports that a senior Arsenal official travelled to Turkey for discussions involving the striker.

The club’s sporting director, Andrea Berta, was reportedly in attendance during a Galatasaray fixture, with claims suggesting he also held a private meeting with club president Dursun Özbek.

According to Turkish journalist Serkan Korkmaz, the purpose of that meeting was clear and centred solely on the Nigerian forward.

“Arsenal’s target is Osimhen!” Korkmaz wrote.
“The Arsenal sporting director and Özbek met last night. Any other claims about what was discussed in their private meeting are not true.”

Arsenal’s interest comes amid ongoing conversations about their attacking output. Despite competing strongly on multiple fronts this season, questions have lingered over efficiency in front of goal, fuelling suggestions that the club could move for a more proven centre forward.

The Nigerian’s recent form has only strengthened that case. He was on target again in Galatasaray’s emphatic derby victory over Fenerbahçe opening the scoring in a 3–0 win that reinforced his side’s position at the top of the league.

That high profile encounter is also believed to have attracted scouts from several European heavyweights, underlining the scale of attention surrounding the 27 year old.
