Nigeria’s preparations for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations received another significant boost on Wednesday as Christy Ucheibe and Francisca Ordega arrived at the Super Falcons camp ahead of the upcoming friendly matches against Senegal.
The experienced duo joined the squad at the Remo Stars Sports Complex in Ikenne, Ogun State, as head coach Justin Madugu continues to assemble his team for the crucial warm-up fixtures.
Ucheibe, who recently completed another successful campaign with Benfica, and veteran forward Ordega were among six players who reported to camp on Wednesday morning. Also arriving were Glory Ogbonna, Blessing Nkor, Comfort Erhabor and Sikiratu Isah.
Their arrival further strengthened a camp that has been steadily growing over the past few days as Nigeria intensifies preparations for this summer’s continental championship in Morocco.
Eight players had already reported on Tuesday evening, including Toni Payne, Tosin Demehin, Omorinsola Babajide, Folashade Ijamilusi, Ngozi Okobi-Okeoghene, Blessing Ilivieda, Anderline Mgbechi and Joy Omewa.

They joined the earlier arrivals led by six-time African Women’s Player of the Year Asisat Oshoala, alongside Shukurat Oladipo and Kafayat Shittu.
The latest additions bring the number of players currently in camp to 17, with more squad members and officials expected to arrive before preparations enter full swing.
Nigeria will face Senegal in a two-match friendly series scheduled for Friday and Monday at the Remo Stars Sports Complex.
The fixtures form a key part of the Super Falcons’ build-up to the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, where Nigeria will once again aim to assert its dominance on the continent.
Having won the competition a record 10 times, the Super Falcons will travel to Morocco determined to extend that record and reclaim the continental crown.

The tournament also carries qualification for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil among the major objectives for participating nations.
With established stars such as Oshoala, Ucheibe, Payne and Ordega gradually linking up with the squad, the Super Falcons coaching crew will be encouraged by the growing strength of the camp as preparations gather momentum.
