However, Adams has now moved to calm the speculation, stressing that transfer rumours are not his priority at the moment.

“I have not heard anything about that, but this is the transfer window and there will always be many rumours,” Adams said in an interview with Footy-Africa.

“It is not important to me at the moment. I have a contract with Sevilla, and we have just come through a difficult season, so now is not really the time to focus on such things.”

The 26-year-old joined Sevilla from Montpellier and enjoyed a much improved campaign last season, scoring 10 league goals after a challenging start to life in Spain.

His performances have helped revive his reputation and sparked fresh interest across Europe, with Marseille reportedly considering an offer for the Nigerian international.

Despite the transfer speculation, Adams reiterated that he is content at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan and remains committed to the club.

“It all depends on what happens, but I am happy at Sevilla. Rumours are part of football, but it is not something I am thinking about right now,” he added.

The striker is currently away on international duty with Nigeria and is focused on the Super Eagles’ upcoming friendly against Portugal.

While Marseille’s interest continues to generate headlines, Sevilla are believed to be under no pressure to sell. The Andalusian club reportedly view Adams as an important part of their plans and hold a strong negotiating position with the forward contracted until 2029.

Adams is concentrating on football, Sevilla are not actively seeking a sale, and unless a significantly improved offer arrives, the Nigerian forward looks set to remain in Spain for the foreseeable future.
