Barcelona have reportedly reignited their interest in Victor Osimhen after failing to make significant progress in their pursuit of Atletico Madrid forward Julian Alvarez.
According to Italian outlet Todomercatoweb, the Spanish giants have returned their attention to Osimhen and could move for the Nigeria international as they look to strengthen their attack before the transfer window closes.
TeamTalk also reports that Barcelona sporting director Deco has stepped up the club’s pursuit of the Galatasaray striker, who had previously featured on the club’s summer shortlist.
Osimhen is understood to be viewed as a more attainable option than Alvarez, potentially making the 27-year-old a key target as Barcelona search for another attacking solution.

Any renewed interest comes as Osimhen continues to produce at an extraordinary rate for Galatasaray.
The striker has scored four goals in his first two Super Lig appearances of the new season, beginning with a brace against newly promoted Corum FK before scoring twice and providing an assist in a 4-0 victory over Erzurumspor.
That run has extended his remarkable sequence of direct goal contributions in the Turkish top flight to 15 consecutive matches. Across that stretch, Osimhen has scored 15 goals and registered six assists.
His form follows a prolific 2024/25 campaign in which he finished as the Super Lig’s leading scorer with 26 league goals, while helping Galatasaray secure the domestic double.

Osimhen’s performances have continued to attract attention from some of Europe’s leading clubs since his permanent move from Napoli to Galatasaray in a club-record €75 million deal last year.
Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur have also previously been linked with the Nigerian, increasing the pressure on Galatasaray as interest in their prized forward grows.
The Turkish champions have consistently maintained that they have no desire to sell Osimhen, but Barcelona’s renewed pursuit could test that position with the transfer deadline approaching.
