LASK sweat over Moses Usor’s fitness ahead of Liverpool’s Champions League visit

Moses Usor has revealed how Moses Simon’s advice encouraged him to take on defenders and score the spectacular winner against Madagascar.

Nigerian winger Moses Usor is a major doubt for LASK’s UEFA Champions League meeting with Liverpool on Wednesday after sustaining a shoulder injury in Sunday’s 2-0 home defeat to Rapid Wien.

LASK will host the Premier League side at the Raiffeisen Arena in their Matchday Two fixture, but Usor’s availability remains uncertain as the Austrian club assess the extent of his injury.

The 24-year-old picked up the problem against Rapid Wien, leaving him racing against time to recover before Liverpool’s visit.

LASK head coach Dietmar Kühbauer provided an update on the winger’s condition, expressing hope that the injury would not keep him out for an extended period.

“With Mo, it’s the shoulder joint that is a bit injured. I hope it won’t take too long,” Kühbauer was quoted as saying by Laola.

The coach also confirmed that George, another player dealing with an injury, would miss Wednesday’s encounter because of a muscle problem.

“George appears to have a muscle injury. He definitely won’t be available on Wednesday,” he added.

Usor’s possible absence would be a setback for LASK, with the Nigerian enjoying a productive start to the campaign. He has registered two goals and three assists in eight appearances across all competitions this season.

His attacking contributions could prove valuable against Liverpool, but LASK must now wait to determine whether he will recover in time for the European fixture.
