D’Tigress forward Amy Okonkwo has written her name into WNBA history, becoming only the third undrafted player to average more than 11 points across her first three league games.
Okonkwo, currently on a seven-day hardship contract with the Dallas Wings, maintained her fine start by scoring 11 points and collecting a joint game-high six rebounds in the Wings’ 100-76 defeat to the Atlanta Dream.
The 28-year-old has now scored in double figures in each of her first three WNBA appearances, averaging 11.3 points per game, a feat matched by only two other undrafted players in league history over the past two decades.

“Okonkwo, just the third undrafted player in the last 20 seasons to average 11.3+ points per game over her first three games, is up to 11 points on 4-of-7 shooting, marking her third consecutive double-digit scoring game,” league stats confirmed.

While the Wings struggled collectively, there were other bright performances, including Paige Bueckers, who recorded her second points-assists double-double of the season with 12 points and 10 assists, equalling her career high in assists.
Okonkwo’s form had already earned her an extended deal, with the Wings recently renewing her 7-day hardship contract.
