The final stretch on the road to the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup has taken shape, with fixtures now confirmed for Africa’s decisive qualifying round where only four teams will survive.
Eight nations remain in contention, and over two intense legs in early May, the continent’s rising stars will battle for a place at the global finals in Poland.
Among the headline fixtures, Nigeria will face Malawi in a tie that pits pedigree against ambition. The first leg is set for Ikenne on May 2, before the return clash in Lilongwe on May 9.

Also drawing attention is the clash between Ghana and Uganda. Ghana’s Black Princesses host the opening leg in Accra on May 3, before travelling to Kampala for what could be a defining second leg.
Elsewhere, Cameroon begin their campaign at home in Yaoundé against Tanzania, while Côte d’Ivoire take on Benin across Abidjan and Lomé.
With qualification on the line, every goal and moment will carry weight. At the end of the two legged encounters, the four winners will secure Africa’s tickets to the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup, scheduled to take place in Poland from September 5 to 27, 2026.
