Kwara United have signalled their intention to challenge for major honours in the 2026/27 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season after unveiling 16 new players in a significant squad rebuild.
The Harmony Boys presented the new recruits during an unveiling ceremony at the club’s secretariat on Wednesday, with chairman Kumbi Titiloye declaring that the Ilorin-based side is determined to compete for both the NPFL title and the President Federation Cup.
According to Titiloye, the latest additions were carefully identified to strengthen every department of the team following the departure of players whose contracts expired at the end of last season.
The chairman also confirmed that the club has retained 16 players from last season’s squad to provide continuity as Kwara United prepare for the new campaign.
“Our target this season is to finish at the top of the league and win every available trophy. We want to win the NPFL title and reclaim the President Federation Cup,” Titiloye said.
The football administrator expressed confidence that the lessons from last season have been taken on board, insisting the team will approach every fixture with greater focus and determination.
“We are treating every game like a World Cup final. The mistakes of last season will not be repeated.”
Titiloye also praised the Kwara State Government, led by Governor Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, as well as the Kwara State Sports Commission for their continued support and investment in the club.
